still…
I’m still feeling pretty sick, thankfully not stomach sick… just head sick. I’ve been kind of out of it the past 2 days… I’m praying this gets knocked out soon! I’ve been downing tea and water like crazy… I don’t like being sick in the middle of summer… it never seems right.

uh oh…
So I woke up at 5 this morning with a TERRIBLE sore throat. This is after going to bed at what 12:30am? We had a movie night at the church for our youth last night… so it was a late one. Anyway, I woke up with a terrible sore throat and I just couldn’t fall back to sleep with that kind of pain. So I got up and grabbed some medicine (at that moment I wasn’t aware of what time it was). Anyway I grabbed the nighttime tylenol thinking this will put me back to sleep. So I took it. Thats when I realized it was 5am. And I also realized oh no, this is going to knock me out for a good bit of the morning! I apparently garbeled something to Karl when he left at 8:30am and I pulled myself out of bed at 9:30am feeling runover by a truck. I put down a good 4 cups of Oolong tea and some toast. I’m feeling better at the moment… flushing the system out. So I don’t know if this is a cold or allergies or whatever… but I’m praying for it to be over before Sunday!

It’s been awhile…
My apologies that I haven’t written in a bit. Honestly I don’t know what to really write about.
This week I’m preparing for our trip to Orlando (9 days with 19 teenagers in Florida). I’m really looking forward to it, but I also know that long trips tend to take their toll on me. I can get cranky. So I’m praying for non-crankiness for 9 days! I’m not really sure what to expect on this trip which makes me excited yet nervous at the same time. I am looking forward to seeing these kids grow, even myself growing and really growing together as a group. Mexico was amazing for our youth last summer, so I’m sure this will be just as great.
Please keep us in your prayers!

radar…
So I just checked weather.com to see if and when I’ll get a thunderstorm today… and I’ll admit I’m quite jealous of my Williamsport friends cause it looks like they are getting rocked right now by a storm! It was a dark red over the whole city! I’m hoping for my own thunderstorm soon…

fifteen…
Ok here’s my response to Karl’s Random 15 Itunes Challenege:
Ben Folds: Philosophy
(I really enjoy Ben Folds’ music… I wish I could play the piano like him!)
David Crowder Band: Soon I Will Be Done With The Troubles Of The World
(great track)
John Mayer: Bigger Than My Body
Medeski, Martin & Wood: Bemsha Swing – Live Up Yourself
(some nice jazz or as Karl says acid jazz. I have fond memories of jazz music from my childhood because that’s the type of music my brother typically plays *he’s a drummer* anyway I was always at his jazz concerts *he’s 7 years older then me* and I always thought of him as THE BEST DRUMMER EVER! I also remember on Friday nights we would go to the local Holiday Inn’s restaurant ‘Harrigans’ to hear my brother’s drum teacher’s jazz group play and I would ALWAYS order mozzarella sticks even though they weren’t on the menu. Fun times!)
Jars Of Clay: Surprise
(this song makes me think of Winter cause thats when Karl got the album and we listened to it… ALOT)
Train: Drops of Jupiter
(love it)
Sufjan Stevens: We’re Goin’ To the Country!
(Some great Christmas Music)
The Ditty Bops: Sister Kate
(Great stage show, Karl and I’ve seen them open twice for Nickel Creek and they’re just hilarious! Great old time sound!)
Relient K: Handel’s Messiah
(a little classical mixed with rock… I love Handel’s Messiah and was so excited in 8th grade when my choir sang the Hallelujah Chorus and I accompanied them! Ok, so it was a little watered down… but not much! I later played the real piano reduction in high school!)
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Purple Stain
Ok Go: Television, Television
(a huge thanks to Jimm Donaruma for the introduction to Ok Go!)
Ok Go: Do What You Want
(makes your head automatically bob)
Medeski, Martin & Wood: Macha
(add a little organ)
Shane & Shane: Yearn
(the intertwining of their voices creates such beautiful music)
Leeland: Tears Of The Saints
Ok those are my random 15. I find I just want to share more of my music, I keep thinking what about this one, or that one… hmm maybe for another post. Oh wait I’ll give you my top 3 most listened to songs according to iTunes…
#3 Ben Folds: Zak & Sara
#2 Ben Folds: One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces
#1 Babe The Blue Ox: My Baby ‘N’ Me
There it is, enjoy!
summer months…
Ok it’s HOT outside… the only reason I venture out is to take Rufus out to relieve herself. I’d rather take the heat then clean up a mess inside! It’s a lazy Monday, so far we’ve had some pancakes for breakfast and I’ve worked on the latest AYF calendar card, which I really enjoy cause I get to play around with organizing everything on it. I use backgrounds that have already been designed… that’s not really my cup o’ tea but then I put the calendar and events over top and have to move it all around. I just love to organize. Don’t know why, but I do. Not sure what we’ll do the rest of the day. We’ve been walking downtown a lot lately, but we also tend to spend money down there (49 cent ice cream cones from McDonalds are hard to pass by). I’ll wait til later in the day to walk Rufus around the park just because its so humid and gross out right now. Hopefully it’ll cool off come evening.
Saw two movies this weekend: Breach & Man of the Year. Both had Laura Linney in them, kind of funny. I enjoyed them both, though Man of the Year was not what I expected. Both were good rents!
The summer is soon reaching the time in which we’ll be insanely busy. I’m looking forward to having more to do (especially with having only a few piano students left for the summer). Next week brings VBS at the church followed by 9 days in Orlando, FL for LIFE (youth conference) with 19 of our students! Fun stuff!

mid month…
So today is the middle of June (aka pay day) (aka $25 more for groceries day). I went to the store and bought the essentials…
toilet paper: we had one roll left
2 boxes of cereal: each were $2 or under (Karl and I have different tastes when it comes to cereal)
spinach: for salads… my attempt to eat healthier
eggs: cause you just need them and we were out and they were only 85 cents today
hamburger buns: to make meatball sandwiches with some leftover meatballs
bread: cause we’re almost out and white bread is dirt cheap at walmart (67 cents)
milk: a HUGE essential in our home
all that for just under $20… and you know if it weren’t for that necessary toilet paper i could have kept it under $15 today. It’s ok though, we needed it. I love to see the low prices that you can pay for food sometimes. My steals today the bread, the eggs and the hamburger buns (94 cents). I think I just seeing that I’m paying under a dollar for something I need.

a little help…
a fun day…
So I won’t say much but I will let this picture show you how we spent a couple of hours Monday afternoon. A huge thanks to Ryan and JJ for helping us out and not leaving us stranded.

heat…
Sometimes I just have to get out of the house. The whole one vehicle between Karl and I sometimes limits my going out through out the week days… today though I’ve ventured into the muggy heat that’s enveloped State College before 4:30pm. Now granted I don’t usually stay inside all day even when I don’t have the car. Rufus and I take a walk almost every day and with my new pedometer I’ve been able to track how far we walk. Granted Ru’s little legs and ADD don’t get us going too quickly on our walks we do keep a pretty good pace. We’ll also walk to the mailbox if I need to drop anything off or I’ll walk by myself to Giant for groceries. I miss living so close to Penn State’s campus… even though I don’t need the campus it was easier to get downtown and just out in general. The good thing about not living as close to downtown though is the money… I’d be somewhere every morning or afternoon… and I’d be tempted to buy… food… drinks… anything. So I guess we’re saving some mony by not being in walking distance to downtown? Eh… i ramble. Anyway, I ventured out today and it’s quite nice. Now I’m just waiting for a thunderstorm to hit and maybe some Ocean’s 13 action tonight and my day will be quite good!
